Morpeth and Leeds to represent Great Britain in European XC Event

Incorporated in to the European Trials held at Liverpool was a clash between leading Clubs of England, Scotland and Wales to see who would represent Great Britain in the European Champion Clubs Cross Country event to be held in Turkey in early February 2016. England were represented by Morpeth H in the Men’s race at Sefton Park and Leeds City AC in the Women’s. Both Clubs had earned to right to represent England by winning their respective races at the Cross Country Relays held at Mansfield on the 31st October.
In the Women’s Race it was a straight competition between Leeds and Edinburgh and the result between them was 1st Leeds City 1, 3, 4 & 9 = 17 points and 2nd Edinburgh 2, 5, 6 & 7 = 20 points.
The Men’s Race had Morpeth against Central AC (Scotland) and Swansea H (Wales). This turned out to be clear-cut as Morpeth H won scoring 2, 3, 5 & 9 = 19 points, with 2nd Central A.C. 4, 6, 8 & 10 = 28 points and 3rd  Swansea H 1, 7, 13 & 14 =  35 points.
Morpeth and Leeds now go to Turkey and ECCA have decided to contribute £1000 to each Club to help with their travel costs.
