Home Countries International Team Results

The Home Countries International held as part of the UK Cross Challenge Races on the new Course devised by Eamonn Martin at Parliament Hill helped spectators recognise the athletes in their representative vests.
This created a good atmosphere with supporters shouting on the athletes representing either England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales or the England Areas. Eastern Counties, Midlands Counties, Northern Athletics and South of England.
The closest race of the day came in the Senior Men’s 10k, England won by just 3 points scoring 21 for their 3 athletes with Scotland 2nd on 24 and the South of England 3rd on 27. See full results below.
However in the Senior Women’s Race, Scotland snatched victory in the last part of Women’s 10K as England lost 2 athletes with injury and Scotland came through to win with 42 ahead of the South of England scoring 45 and Northern Athletics 70.
The biggest win came in the Under 20 Women’s event with England recording a 1,2,3 (6 total) while Northern Athletics were 2nd with 24 and the South of England 3rd on 27.
The final HCI race was the Under 20 Men. England again ran well and won with 8 points while the South of England were 2nd scoring 31 and Northern Athletics 3rd with 34.
