The Survey took place at the English National Cross Championships held at Parliament Hill on the 24th February 2018 with 244 taking part

Number of participants that stated Yes to the question “Do you think that Senior Men and Senior Women should run the same distance at the National Cross Country Championships” 47.9% (50.4% Female and 49.6% Male)
To the question “What common distance do you think men and women should run?”
Women saying Yes stated 8K = 11.9%, 10K = 76.3%, 12K = 3.4%, No pref/Don’t care as long as it is equal = 9.4%
Men saying Yes stated 8K = 1.7%, 10K = 34.5%, 12K = 41.4%, 15K = 1.7%, 10K – 12k = 6.5%, No Pref = 14.2%
Number of participants that stated No to the question “Do you think that senior men and senior women should run the same distance at the National Cross Country Championships” 52.1%
Of these 66.9% were Female and 33.1% Male
To the question “Currently the distance for senior women is 8k are you satisfied with this”, 81.2% of women stated they were. 5.2% requested 10K, 4.8% requested 6K, 1.8% requested 5K and 7.0% didn’t answer.
To the question “Currently the distance for Senior Men is 12K, are you satisfied with this, 92.9% Men stated they were. 7.1% requested 15K.”
